Gon fix it with me hammer
|
just got back, including detours for closed high ways through the Eiffel
it was 1380 kms. 857 miles, averaged 77 miles an hour. Debrief - Nothing at Porsche is for free Except taking a dump - Everything has Porsche logo/branding on it Except the TP, you will not wipe your ass with their logo. - The Type 360 Cesitalia is gorgeous, it is the proto F1 car - The 356's don't really do much for me Except the Abarth, that one looks badass - The newer models just don't do it for me, to much plastic edgy gimmicks.. - The Carrera GT is not a good looking car - The 918 for the most part is, on the outside Except for that Oil filler cap, Why the F is that visible on the outside??? - The 918 has a hideous Dashboard behind the steering wheel.. - The 919 deserves to be put on fire. That car is beyond ugly. - The Piech Racing cars may be technologically amazing. and look bad ass on pictures They are not pretty in person.. In fact they look crude, almost done in a hurry, like cheap kit cars. The museum cleaned em all up and got them painted glossy, which makes it worse. Should have left em with war paint & patina. - The Butzi Porsches all look amazing on picture And even better in real life. - So do the open wheel racers Type 360, 804, 918 and the silver spyders.. - The 904 GTS is the most beautiful car ever designed. Inside and out.. clean lines, no gimmicks or nonsense. The Miura and Dino are copycats and can't rival the original. - Overall the Porsche Museum is a bit underwhelming. Ok if you are around tho - To much empasis on the design of the body They don't show enough of the mechanicals, only a few new things i found : Bergspyder fueltank/pump & 917 Turbo injectors spray against the airflow (???!!!) - The Simulator was a lap around Spa Which i have done about 10000 with various F1 race games Queue, one try only.. No warm up no nothing. Everybody wiped out, seat to far, couldn't brake or hold it straight I sat seat forward, slammed the brake like an old 911, and managed to overtake the demo car The hostess girl was screaming, "keep pushing you almost have it." Which when coming from a fit German girl, means you are doing something right. - Don't go to Germany for food No really, even McDonalds burgers are greasy and bland over there. - The Drive on the Autobahn and through the Eiffel made it worth it. ![]()

Dang, I got this exact vibe walking through the Palladio open air mall headed to the movie theater yesterday. Listening to the packs of yutes yammering on about the latest and greatest iPhone and how the BMW is so like last week and mummy and daddy will give them whenever they ask. They seemed high school age too The wife and I looked at each other and had a non-verbal head nod thinking the same thing. "We are so screwed if this the next gen of future leaders"..... ![]() ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Central Coast Road Trip
My 911 got to spend the night with it's its little bit older brethren 1 of only 2 DSRV - Morro Bay, CA In an emergency, I always wondered how a ship could get it there in time. Now I know they could fly it anywhere they might need it! ![]()
