That is actually a pretty cool idea! I wonder how it shifts gears?

The new Morgan three wheelers are manufactured in my area, so I've had a chance to speak with one of their engineers at local car events. They initially tried Harley engines and failed, learning one very important lesson. The lack of a thrust bearing on the crankshaft makes them entirely unsuitable for mounting in this fashion in a car.

They switched to a proprietary S&S engine that has a thrust bearing. It's got an entirely different lower end just to accommodate one.

There is/was an outfit in Daytona that sold/sells an adapter for Harley engines (dunno what model exactly) and a 200mm vw (or 356, 912, etc) clutch

Looks like about 90mm to me. 30mm is 1.18 inches and 300 is 11.8 inches.

Here is a 90. Sorry nothing much to scale it against but the projectile is a little over 3 1/2 inches in diameter.
