From what I can tell the 356 Carrera Abarth weighed 200-300 lbs more than the 904 using a similar engine. However the Abarth weighed over 100 lbs less than a 356.

I have no idea what the author is referring to, maybe comparing the 904 to a Lotus?

That part of the article jumped out at me as well, which is part of the reason I posted it.
