These were quite the rage for a while... one of my Son's buddies wore a pair to hike up Desolation peak (4400' and just under 5 miles one way).
They had blistered his toes and feet so much that he came down from the peak bare foot instead.

He's worn real deal hiking boots while hiking ever since.

I jumped on that bandwagon 9 years ago and never got off it.

I have worn out 4 pairs of them so far and just bought new ones for my upcoming Belize jungle trip in December. They take a while to get adjusted to but for me the most comfortable foot wear I have ever worn. Incredible gym wear too...you would be amazed how much stability you have using all your toes. Being a SoCal person I rarely wear shoes anyway :)

I think I've got 6 or 7 pairs right now. The wife has 4 or 5. We've both worn several pairs out. For a while, I had the kangaroo leather (looked like suede) versions in brown and black and wore those to work. I've also worn out several pair. I took 2 pair when we went to the Amazon a few years ago. I ran a 10k in Seattle in them a year ago too. We run and exercise in them. They are the most comfortable shoe that I've ever worn. Some have super thin/soft soles. Some have thick soles that you can wear in the woods and step on sticks and rocks without fear.

I first heard about them here on the board about 9 years ago and bought my first pair 8 years ago.

My first pair was like these

I used to be able to find really amazing deals on them. I often found the louder colors on clearance for 33-75% off. Yeah, I paid between $20 and 25 for a pair that had been $85 once. Most of the time I was able to find them near 50% off. It's been a long time since I was able to get any deals that good.

Very cool, and would like even better if roof had a 6-10 degree slope on it.

Looks more utilitarian than true Kammback.
