I think "cent" means "X /100" out of one hundred. Roman?

centimeter=1/100th of a meter
centipede= insect with 100 legs
century= 100 years
centennial= 100th anniversary
also 100 Senators per wiki

why give "a cent' a different name anyway, it already has a name... a cent
Maybe because it looked like another existing coin ..

Latin. Roman works for me. Small town near Rome called Latium is where it (Latin) originated per web search.

The English called small denomination coins "bits". In the US, certain Spanish/Mexican coins were in circulation that were worth about 12.5 cents. So two of these coins (bits) were worth a quarter in the US.

Some of you guys don't give two cents about this fascinating topic.

That's my two cents.

But with inflation and all, those femmes du nuit cost a little more these days.

A group of workers at a military-themed fried chicken restaurant realizes too late that their business is built on top of an ancient Native American burial ground. And that’s when things get real plucked up! It’s up to them to fight off the evil zombie chickens that return from the dead to wreak havoc on fast food workers and consumers.

When the American Chicken Bunker, a military themed fast food restaurant, builds its latest chain restaurant on the site of an ancient Native American burial ground, the displaced spirits take revenge on unsuspecting diners and transform them into chicken zombies! Now, it’s up to a dimwitted counter boy, his collegiate lesbian ex-girlfriend and a burqa-wearing fry cook to put an end to the foul feathered menace once and for all.

Known as JP's in pool jargon...joint protectors. Used to keep dirt and debris out of the joint as well as protect the pin if cue is dropped. Screwed into the shafts and cue butt unless the cue is together. Two with male threads for the shafts, one heads, one tails, so I can glance in the case and identify which shaft with which shaft tip. (one medium tip, one soft) The female thread (heads) goes onto the Butt. Ring colors and wood colors match my cue. Had them made a bit concave for better grip when removing from the case.

I'd cry more if my cues were stolen than my car. Why? I could buy another car tomorrow. Keith Josey, the guy who made my playing cue, now has a two years long waiting list. At 76, I shouldn't buy green bananas...might not have the time it would take for Keith to build another cue for me.

J/k Paul, don't take it personally.
If I played pool, the above meme would certainly apply.
