this kid took dads car out in the "woods" to do some 4 wheelin'. the hot cat caught the hay on fire, then, to impress the chic, he drove thru the fire, setting the engine ablaze. mom was pissed.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1183131672.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1183131708.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1183131791.jpg
are you impressed with us Missouri boys yet??

kach22i 06-29-2007 08:01 AM

My 1990 Geo Tracker is an older version of that car. My car would of blown up Pinto style in a hurry. That kid got away easy.

TSNAPCRACKLEPOP 06-29-2007 08:35 AM

It's a good city car, my problem is the 17 salt filled Michigan winters ate through the fuel lines on top of the gas tank. I had to by-pass a bunch of stuff and leave the gas cap venting to keep the vapor pressure from building up too much.

Pics??

I have an 87 LWB version with a diesel conversion. I bought the thing 3 years ago, half on a dare, for $400. I figured I could just whip it like a red-headed stepchild and dispose of it. It's turned out to be incredibly stout & reliable.

I'm leaning towards a 4 door Vitara or Tracker to replace our Jetta, with an early VW Tdi engine.

TSNAPCRACKLEPOP 06-30-2007 12:43 PM

i think the early vitara has a water pump related recall. early loss of bearing i think it was....
