From tonight...

2/19/08 will not only be a full moon, but total eclipse as well.... Stay tuned.

kstar 02-17-2008 09:54 PM

Here's one of mine from the last total lunar eclipse - only 200mm and not nearly as nice as your shots, Dave!

Thank you 911Rob and kstarnes. I appreciate the kudos, I have been having fun, but it has been frustrating as well. The lens (Nikon 200-400f/4 VR AF-S) used to take the moon pics is not mine, but I have access to it - oh I use a 1.7x tele-extender as well. The images have been cropped for web - I get to enlarge a bit more, but 8x10 prints and larger have to show a smaller moon in order to print at a proper dpi.

Dave

P.S. I need to get my hands on a bigger lens!

911Rob 02-18-2008 12:33 AM

Dave: supercool, those lenses are a fortune!
Look forward to your next photos....

Taken today by me with my phone cam,
I wish I could have my camera with me instead, but the sleds are filled with come-alongs, shovels, ropes and food. Too hard on the camera too.
Anyway, what a blast....... snows great!

Oops, my bad. I meant Wednesday. With the rain, it doesn't really matter anyway. :( Next time. Actually, we're on standby for tomorrow. We're hoping for a little break in the weather tomorrow evening.

+1 I was able to watch last night, very light cloud coverage here. My camera sucks though and couldn't get any good pics, thanks.
