Heard bagpipes last night and went up to the roof in time to snap these shots...

There were police cars in front, followed by a lone bagpiper. Some distance behind the piper was a state police honor guard, and behind them groups of people walking. Many of the people were carrying small framed portraits, but of different people; I honestly don't know what the procession was about. Perhaps a memorial for fallen police officers?

In Sydney, Australia for ANZAC day (our equivalent of Memorial Day) we do it with slightly more pipers. I'm in there somewhere.

very cool, nice to see Anzac day commemorated outside of Austaliasia/Turkey/ commonwealth country.

myself and my g/f joined a small group of RNZAF and one RNZN in Rarotonga (Cook Islands) for Anzac Day and a bit of a holiday this year.

This is us on our scooter. we had to ride before sunrise in the rain with no helmets to the dawn service in our best uniform. was an interesting experience!

The PPI was done at the local dealer... I didn't know that the mechanic that looked at the car happened to be the sellers friend. Live and learn.

At the time, you could still walk up to the grave. There was a local policeman watching over the grave and every time I tried to take a pic, he seemed to shoo me away. It turns out that someone behind me was taking video and that was not allowed. Before this pic, I was in the perfect location...
