It's a gorgeous part of the world. My brother and his family moved to Idaho Falls last year and they're loving it. They also have a piece of raw land somewhere well out in the boondocks but I am not sure precisely where.

Here's a little itty-bitty lizard (maybe 1 1/2 inches long) from a few days ago -

The new Mazda 6, with out of town dealer plates, parked on the next block from me.

Male California Quail in the yard a few hours ago. He had his woman & baby in tow but I did not get a clear shot of them.

LOL, I suppose in a major SHTF situation we'd have plenty of quail, dove and rabbit available for protein...deer within walking distance as well...

@MT930 - that is an awesome caterpillar! I'm glad we don't have buggers like that here or I'd never see anything at all come out of my lame-a$$ vegetable garden.

Here's another bird spotted in the yard today - a Roufus-sided Towhee - very skittish ground foraging species.

Clearwing (hummingbird) moth about 2 1/2 inches long. Damndest thing I've ever seen, would flit back and forth like a _______. Had a smaller one again this morning.

My backyard garden is also host to dozens of honeybees, which are now endangered and could wipe out a big chunk of US agriculture.

Hey Campbell, I have bad news for you. That looks just like the tomato worms we pull out of our So Cal gardens.

Crazy, the painters sucked. It very clearly says "Brown" right on the trunk lid, but the car is obviously white.

;)

Photos were taken about mile away from my home. I'm hoping that the owner has a warped sense of humor and is not being serious. Poor little Bug.
