From to just above sea level:
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1287450869.jpg To over 5000' at the Mt Baker ski area: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1287450693.jpg About 300 miles and 10 hours with many stops at rather odd places (my specialty)... too much traffic for making good time (other than a spirited section descending Mt Baker) We went West from Arlington area to Stanwood, North to Delta Rock, Edison, Chuckanut drive and Bellingham. From there we went East to Maple Falls and Silver Lake then on up to Artist point above the normal winter ski area. Our return was a rather circuitous route through Sedro Wooley (and a good Mexican meal) and then South on highway 9. Another very fun day spent in my favorite automobile! Rich is always a great guy to go for a spin with! |
Unloaded the Firebird just before sunrise at Sebring for a NASA track day.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1287475102.jpg Pretty self explanatory. A scale model of the Arc of Triumph Barcelona made of 1250 plastic bread trays. You can view this masterpiece in all its gleaming majesty outside the steam plant museum in Lisbon. |

We're higher than that in Denver, with lawns, Elm trees, girls in bikinis, etc... The tree line goes from about 11,000 feet here to, it looks like about 6,000 feet there, and of course it's actually below sea level once you get farther north. |
