I have spent 5 weeks out of the last 6 months in Beijing... My wife took an apartment in the Chaoyang district while we wait for the interminable immigration process to slowly inch forward..
Went food shopping today, she mentioned we should go to Walmart  some pics of not your average Wallymart crappy pic, but bulk rice.. scoop it up, bag it, weigh it, pay for it... Wifey says Wallyworld has good prices and products... like dried sea-cucumber for 7980 rmb/Kg.  Dried meat

Yikes - dried sea cucumber is not on my shopping list - knowing it's a critter not a vegetable...
