North cascades camping, 5 years back...

Early settlers house and root cellar

Early fire lookout pit toilet structure and dump from the 1930-50 timeframe... forest service did not do leave no trace back then- at all

Krakow, Poland one year ago. Very nice city. We were walking to a restaurant for a big dinner.

Really rather great photos Gents!!

4 years ago on the 18th.
Wandered some hill sides up along my favorite mtn lake with a BIL, spent the night at what is usually a boat in campsite, had that chunk of lake all to ourselves.
Love the sunny late summer/early fall except for how early it gets dark... early morning sunshine with a cup of hot Joe is hard to beat in my book.
Oh well, take night time photos!

Aptly named Pumpkin mountain sits right at the Big Beaver junction to Ross, up the other side of it is where John McMillon (early settler) was laid to rest near one of his old home sites.

Jack Mountain at 9075' is one of only 10 non-volcanic peaks in Washington State looms 7,450' over Ross lake...
Long arse hike just to get near it.
Nope, have not done that one, BIL did Little Jack a while back and complained about some very long steps and bear poop in the middle of the trail.
Here's yer sign, you are not alone out here.

Looks like the prototype airship used in the new-ish movie DUNE.

Good stuff, so jealous. You live and play in beautiful country.

I noticed that the lakes up there are full of tree stumps. I assume they were forest before they were flooded. I guess they harvest the trees before they flood since they'll die anyway.

Great shot of the sky, you got the Andromeda galaxy (right of center near the top) and the "double cluster" in Perseus (left of center near the top) pretty prominently in the photo.

Aug 30, we got 3/8" of rain.
Since Aug 30, we've gotten 1/4" of rain. Sep is usually our wettest month and usually brings 7.1" but this year, we only got the .1". Since May 30, we've had ~6" of rain, the average would usually be about 24" in that same time. I can't say for the months before that, but we've had very little rain since Feb.
Pics taken 6 mins apart out the window while I was working.

Morning cloud bank on the St. Lawrence River. A curtain of mist over a warm current in the middle of the river rose up to form a cloud that followed the course of the river while it meandered.

Fantastic! I'm glad she's back to getting around.

We've got a canoe. She hasn't been out but has talked about it. I do think a 2 person kayak or 2 one person kayaks would be easier than the canoe.
