$50k for an Amphicar? Wow!
There's quite a few of them in the Chicago area. Every once in awhile I'll see one taking a lap in the lake and then drive out right up a wet boat ramp - no sweat. Of course, never had a phone or cam handy to get a shot. Last summer, we were at a picnic at a small lake in WI. Sure enough, another appeared and just peacefully putzing along in the water. They are cute.

Other:
Seeing this the other day made me laugh and do a U-turn. Road detour directed thru some old neighborhood. Lots of stuff on jackstands. Hilarious scenery and peculiar activities. Example: Its fricken' cold out and two guys, wearing shorts and t's are walking down the road with some super large container buckets over there head!?? Whatever-

Taken while snow was at about 12", max peak 32 mph winds coming head on to my truck.

Compare to final snow drifts of 14.1 inches.

http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...psg2jj2cnk.jpg

Sort of some crisp edges on the upper parts.

The indented drift or scallop between the wheel-base is interesting.

The front air dam has a pronounced affect.

It is like a well or hole.

Saves on digging it out.

I am not sure what the snow "deposits" actually depict.

I want to assume that they show an idea aerodynamic shape formed by nature, but do not know for sure.

EDIT: I should note that I had no problems with the 14 inches of snow despite the dam only 7-1/2" off the ground.

Ears pinned back, raised hackles. You think maybe he was agitated? Got out of there in a hurry for sure.
