Chinook Arch...as viewed from my bedroom window this morning!

Chinook winds in southern Alberta can be very strong....75 top 90 Km/Hr! The arch forms before the winds appear. These winds can also be very warm (relatively). It's not unusual for the temperature to rise from -15C to +10C in a matter of an hour or so.

Back from a couple days skiing. On the way up, stop off in the Alabama Hills (Cali!!!) and found this... Well, the arch is well known. Also better to take the pic during sunrise, but since this was primarily a ski trip, that wasn't in the cards. :D
