Overnighter in the North Cascades

I'm kinda hooked on this area!
I took an opportunity on Jan 25th to go enjoy a nearly full moon, nice weather (albeit cold) and a chance to test out my canoe with an electric motor and outriggers for future travels to remote campsites.
I'm pleased with how well it works!

Drive up campsite on a mountain lake, battling the cold with fire

Moonlit mountain shot

Morning sunshine (only about 2 hours of direct sun at this spot)

A cruse down lake

Retirement is a blast!!

Nope, another other Skip... Smokey Point area.

It's a 440. All the 1980+ Liquifires (this body style) use the Kawi 440 engine. The earlier Liquifire body style was available as a 340 or 440.

It is amazing much sleds have evolved in the past 30 years. Last time I was out on a friends sled I was amazed at the power and the suspension that is on them now.

Random slightly modified picture I had taken....

Planting some 15 gal. size twin-trunk Alexander Palms (Archontophoenix alexandrae) on a project. They are native to Australia and not widely used in this area of Florida, but are self-cleaning (fronds drop off on their own) and have a nice crown shaft and interesting flower stalk along with distinctive ringed trunk. While a little skimpy upstairs...these are really good "starter" plants with respectable height and will really take off now that they are out of their pots!

Very true, they are noisy and smelly. Of course all the smelly pedestrians with multi-colored tents (of which I am also one) spoil the view for the photographers and they can be ever so vocal about it. Seems like no matter what you do somebody's cornflakes have been pi$$ed upon
