Today, while driving home from work, I snapped this of a local hospital after a storm, and thought... WOW!!! I wish I was getting a surgery TODAY!

You would think JESUS ALMIGHT HIMSELF was blessing whoever was getting worked on today.

On the other hand, I think I will be going to another place... (taken one morning from my back porch) Muwhwahahahahahaha!!!!!

Steve.....I think the person who removed the male inflorescences in this case, did so to avoid the untidy appearance after the blooms die off. I say that because I know who he is and a little about his situation. I mean look at the yard...rock...rock...rock...sagos...sagos...sagos. ....how basic can you get?

I was working next door and saw the pile of male blooms and thought it would make an interesting pic.

That said - there is something to what you said about diverting the energy from blooming to maintain growth, but on a sago it's probably moot.

OK, was just curious. I'd never seen anyone do that before and there are a bunch of those around here.

I actually love the male flowers on the king sago much better than the fruiting bodies of the females (no jokes, please).

I think they are very ornamental.

But nothing I see surprises me any more....including bizarre pruning rituals...
