Location: Placerville, CA.... You know, the only place on Highway 50 between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe the you find signal lights. Above the fog most of the time and I can see the stars of the Milky Way 8 out of 10 nights. Kinda cool.....

Taken a few minutes ago. A Bald Eagle juvenile landed about 50 feet from my home office with lunch. Looks looks like a rabbit. I have been watching the carnage without interrupting him or her for half an hours through bino's.
We have at least three nests on the farm.  Sorry for the iPhone snap but I don't want to interrupt desert. This is what they look like through the lens of a real camera, taken by a professional:

|
Picked up a few bamboo today. These are going in at my house. I think someone just bought the empty lot behind me and at some point are going to build. I need a partition!
These are 15 gal. size and I will split them with a sawzall to make 8 plants. Probably plant at 6' centers

I planted some golden bamboo in the back yard about 30 years ago. It took over the neighbor hood and torqued off all the neighbors. I think we finally got it all pulled up. That stuff took off underground and did not stop.

This guy ( girl? I don't know how to tell the difference) was a frequent visitor to a tree near the deck at my house in Vermont..
 Not sure what kind of fish it is.... but its larger than any fish I ever took out of the lake..  Pics taken by a non pro sitting in an armchair at a really nice location in Vermont
