Those are cool. The place we visited on Sunday had one of the tri-wings. I think they are going to leave it as a static in the condition it was donated.

Fokker DR 1- I am pretty sure no originals survived. So every DR1 you see is a re creation. not that its a bad thing. its probably my favorite airplane. Imagine flying that radial rotary wide open with no throttle control except for a blip switch. now that is NUTS ..I hope someone chimes in that knows more about these than i do.

Le Rhone radial engine.

Ya had to make sure the engine and prop were well balanced as a unit.

Throttle was either full or not.

Yeah, all the ones at the museum were built and not original. The scaled down versions still looked fun to fly.

This P-47 is a 70% reproduction

One exact 70% reproduction down to the rivets, was the Stewart 51. An advanced builder experimental P-51D. Even was powered by the Falconer V-12. Talk about a sexy kit plane.....

Decided to get away from Florida and the heat for a relaxing weekend in the mountains.

When we arrived at our Home Away house I was having a hard time with the driveway.

When we initially arrived I scraped over this lip. Then I walked around a figured out how to beat the lip and never scraped again.

The old girl tucked in the driveway, another 1500+ mile trip without a hiccup. that is over 4K miles in 2 months over 2 trips in a 27 year old car and we pushed this poor girls limits this time.

The owner lived next door, he was super cool and had a real Morgan in the garage.

When out for our morning walk we found this house up above us, it appeared to be a rental too, I just found it online and booked it for next year, the views from it are more than amazing. Plus I loved the mid century architecture.

Not to mention the smooth, flush drivway transition.... :)

Indeed, sadly I will most likely be in a rented Mini van next year.

That 318 / 328 was flawless. I love that car.

Much deserved after the weather you had yesterday. I drove thought it and endured the 95 closing as a result.

Should have just found you and spent the evening drinking.

That could easily be fixed with:
-A low outside safety wall/edge to also keep the rain from washing dirt over the strip and onto the side of the house,
-A slightly wider exit,
-Repave to allow a flat resting spot before the road exit.

I know they tried to split the drive grading and added the bump to keep road water away but it doesn't seem to work overall.
