This was a bit unbelievable to me, what someone had done to this car with 1/2 tape applied poorly.

Location: Placerville, CA.... You know, the only place on Highway 50 between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe the you find signal lights. Above the fog most of the time and I can see the stars of the Milky Way 8 out of 10 nights. Kinda cool.....

Out yakking again!
This is my favorite time of year. There's a fresh dusting of snow on the peaks in my favorite playground, fall has painted many of the deciduous trees red, orange and yellow. Clearly time for a therapeutic overnight kayak trip.

Said dusting
 Home away from home... over the years all my gear has been replaced with lighter options- except the sleeping pad. Bigger is better.  After reviewing these, I've surmised the 2nd beer may have been a mistake   Dam lights and highway 20 lit by headlights

You may have fallen over. Gotta get away, gotta go go go A late season meander over the North Cascades highway... offering adventure at the price of fuel since 1972. Goal was Slate Peak at 7440' 3 miles from Hart's pass which is the highest drive-able pass in Warshington state. You can drive (usually) to about 7250' and hike the last couple hundred feet. Views from 7200' give or take a few  Trusty Ram delivery device and best buddy ever from high school  Slate Peak lookout- that is the road on the left... winds peeled all the snow from lower slopes and plopped it there in a nice drift  Not Slate Peak  The Larch trees still holding color can be spotted from quite some distance with the naked and rather chilled eye. It's an easy-ish 31 miles to the Canadian border from here and the northern end of the PCT  This neighborhood appeals to me

Ok fine, a few more.
Campground area surrounded by 100's of acres of trees stripped and silvered by wildfires in 2015  One day short of a full moon makes capturing star photos look more like a daytime shot  a moody 7720' Liberty Bell peak as seen from Washington Pass  America's Alps
