The WW2 part of the Fort has some interesting bits still there. That portion was built using the Endicott era Board of fortifications designs with the ever popular disappearing guns.
Also the only west coast incident of a Japanese sub firing on the mainland. Then there was the 3 nights at Cannon beach. A Typical tourist focused downtown, very good local artist's work in the gallery's, good food options yada yada.
But then.... on the last day we drove South for adventuring and happened on something pretty awesome. I took several opportunities to test my Nikon D750... upgraded from the D7100. The full frame sensor is amazing, much better light gathering abilities and the 28mm to 300 zoom is heavy but very handy for most situations. This is my favorite time of year. There's a fresh dusting of snow on the peaks in my favorite playground, fall has painted many of the deciduous trees red, orange and yellow.
