Timed dune climb- at this point my son could summit in under a minute.
My horizon was less than horizontal in this shot, it's steeper than rendered...


And then there's the sunsets, mmm sunsets. Best enjoyed with a Pelican brewery beer- just so happens it's located close to the dune too. Mighty handy

Cape Kiwanda, Cape Lookout and Cape Meres are all part of the aptly named 3 capes drive.
Last time I was on it the roadway was in poor shape. but the hikes out to the tips of each Cape is fantastic.

I don't remember which cape this was back in 2008.

My son was running cross country in high school, in the top 5 ranking...crappy photo but here he is bouncing off the sides of the trail like usual

I taught myself to hangglide off the top of Kiwanda back when I was 15 yo. I love that place.

Pacific city 2011 captured by Early Gopro cam slung under a control line Kite.
The way I had it rigged affected kite handling to the "more than a hand full" level.

One of my Sisters used to rent the 2 story house in the top left corner every other year in August. Great home base for exploring the coast, room for three family units and... Pelican Brewery is maybe 100 yards away.
