To get where you're going, it helps to know where you are and where you've been.

Yesterday at Grand Canyon. 25 MPH winds. If you haven’t been, you should go. Pictures don’t do it justice.

Followed this little bugger to work this morning on Hwy 37 past Sonoma Raceway (I thought he might turn in for a track day) west to Hwy 101. He ran it up a couple times to 95-100. Sounded good, but it was probably half throttle at the most. It was a 5000 Quattrovalvole.

Great weather and our 33rd wedding anniversary resulted in a 2 night trip out to Port Townsend, first non-native settlement in Washington state with roots back to the 1850s.
Ferry boat time http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618848366.JPG First wanderings- Fort Worden Still lots of cool chunks-O-Fort left to explore http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618848366.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618848366.JPG Try as I might, couldn't get this old generator to fire up http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618848366.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618848366.JPG Not buff out-able http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618848366.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618848366.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618848366.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618848366.JPG Anti-aircraft mounts, with a view http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618848366.JPG |
Then it was beach time- between the Fort and the surrounding beach we got in 10 miles of adventures... low tides help greatly!

More Otter than I've seen ever!
Glad they are recovering- early fur trades wiped them out until they were re-introduced in the late 1960's. Watched one grab a crab lunch and devour it on a rock 30' away. The crab was not real pleased. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618850539.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618850539.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618850539.jpg Not an Otter http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618850539.jpg Watched these harbor seals work together to keep a ball of bait fish corralled and make feeding runs through them multiple times over 5 minutes http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618850539.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618850539.jpg Spoke with the owner of this beauty, he's 90 and looks maybe 65, he, his son and grandson have been converting her to a live aboard for many months- I asked when she's going back in the water... he grinned and said Monday!! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618850539.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618850539.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618850539.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618850539.JPG |
