Great shots as usual Skip. I especially liked the otter shots - were you on the water yourself? Beautiful regardless.
Port Townsend is a place I’d like to visit in the near future. I’d never heard of before, but I started following a couple of wooden boat builds, one of them in PT and the other nearby. I’d love to see the boatbuilding coop there. I know this is OT, but if you’re at all interested in wooden boat building, the following is a link to the Western Flyer restoration being performed by the coop. It’s the fishing boat John Steinbeck journeyed in 1951 and wrote about in The Sea Of Cortez. It’s a fascinating build: https://youtube.com/c/WesternFlyerFoundationChannel The other one nearby is the restoration of Tally Ho - probably my favorite: https://youtube.com/c/SampsonBoatCo |

I lived at the South Rim of the Canyon in ‘95-‘96. That’s me in the helmet flying down to Havasupai. As mentioned, pictures do not do it justice, Grand Canyon is a must see. Even better, hike down into it. |
Oops - forgot pics - mea maxima culpa:

^Gorgeous shots Steve^
To answer the Q about being on the water, nope unless you count the floating docks. PT's roots go back to the 1850's- a looong time for this corner of the country and the shear variety of beautiful boats is amazing. The Pygmy Kayak company is/was based in PT too. They have a pretty fantastic wooden boat festival if the rona don't rise... quite the mecca for wooden boat builders, owners and lovers. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618869519.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618869519.JPG Another other Otter http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618869519.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618869519.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618869519.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618869519.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618869519.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618869519.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618869519.JPG |
Love the boat pics. I need to ask my dad what happened to his friend's wooden Chris Craft that was restored.

Hey 71T Targa, yep... guilty as charged, I was out running errands and gassing up with that tasty pure gas that Nelson sells.
A sure tip off is a shocking amount of grey hair showing and I believe I have the only signal yellow 72 Targa in these parts! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1619186912.JPG |
