Final game of the 84 World Series.
Can you spot the home run ball off of Gibson's bat? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1638810157.jpg |

[QUOTE=Seahawk;11539105]You took that picture? You were there!?!
Yes, with my brother (who took the pic) and our father. Amazing time. We prob hold the distinction of the only group of people that ever sat in the wrong seats at a World Series game! Usher sat us in a prime bleacher area and we looked at our tickets after seated, realized we were in the wrong section and stayed. Three young gals were led up to their seats by the same usher and he saw us seated in them and proceeded to seat the gals one section over in the same seat numbers. Theirs were restricted view seats with a chain fence degrading the view..lol (they never knew the diff) Gibson hit two homers...the one in the pic is off of Goose Gossage. I've got about a dozen more pics from the game....including many of the mad mob afterwards. |

Can you imagine trying that in the US? You'd have folks complaining to HR, lawsuits, protests.... |
Awesome pics, Steve!
Everyone else as well! Z - was it the bumper or the bumper "hitch"? :D |
^^^ Thanks Baz
This video clip is from the same game...Gibson's homer off Gossage. Listen to Sparky! It landed about 15 rows in front of us. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/dmukTdo-WuY" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Sparky lived in Thousand Oaks and I played a number of games when he was there.
BTW, Norm Cash was a favorite baseball player of mine growing up...the 1968 World Series was probably the first real interest I had in professional sports. Norm!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1638828383.jpg |

I followed every game of that series. Even though some were weekday afternoon games. I'll never forget watching (on the b&w tv) Freehan settle in to catch a pop-up for the final out of the series. And who could forget Lolich winning three games!! Has that ever been done by another pitcher?? Bob Gibson was supposed to handily beat the Tigers....nope.:) |

I had an Apartment in Chaoyang, Beijing... and would go for walks or runs in the morning.. and pass by many stores (usually larger department stores) and the staff would be out doing Tai Chi.. stretching ... some sort of Exercise... and there was always a Leader...who changed regularly... Also seeing all the seniors going Tai Chi in the courtyard of my building was amazing.. And the old guys with Chinese yo-yos....the sound is haunting http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1638829947.JPG This cracked me up big time... Chinatown... in China... T25 - amazing how much sharpness gets lost with lower resolution photos, but still love shooting night racing...
