U-505, captured intact off the African coast in 1944. Two Enigma machines, along with code books and other valuable documents were seized that helped cripple the German war effort in the Atlantic. On exhibit at the Museum of Science & Industry in Chicago.

The time for paint and a little body work draws nearer
   The motor is very happy though, just under 6K on it, conferred with JW since the plugs all looked pretty fouled and went up a heat range. Oil looked good, a few valves needed slight adjustments and it runs even better now! So happy I went to a 3.0 with decent cams, so smooth and lively!

Deck rebuild time, mine this time.
I'm going with a Timber Tech product, deck is 16' X 10', the TT boards are 16' 1/2" and damn near $100 each! Had to buy a saw blade for composite material, oops there goes another $75        Going to have to replace the fascia boards too, oops another $250 and then the railing too- another $1000? Some projects start off sooo easy and then... At least all the pressure treated supports look great, bugs must not like eating that chemical, I'm good with that

Skyfest at our little local airport today, pretty good this year except a bit lacking on aerobatics.
The night “pyro” show and the drones were great and worth the wait
