That is an awesome view.....

More ranch labor today before work. Property is getting a bit much for the parents to maintain.

Found an old shovel buried for who knows how long.

Found a beautiful rat snake when leaving. Looked very healthy and the pic doesn’t do the orange color justice.

The perils of working the weed eater. Didn’t know until I saw my arm in the mirror after I left.

Found this guy/gal hiding in the shade of my box scraper on the back of my tractor. Herded him/her off into the bushes. It was pretty upset & did a lot of buzzing for a short while until it settled down & just wanted to get away.

Seventy five years ago, from 15 June to 9 July 1944, the Battle of Saipan was raging in the Pacific during WWII.
In May of 1967, while visiting Saipan in the Mariana Islands, I saw this old Japanese locomotive stuffed and mounted on a hillside south of the town of Garapan.

Here is a photo I found of the same locomotive while in service hauling sugar cane from the fields to the sugar mill sometime in the 1930s.

From my walk this morning. Seconds later her chicks all flushed and flew away. I didn't know they were there until they hit the fly button!

We re-introduced Turkey's in the area five years ago and they have done very well.

That’s funny,
Our friends who we stayed with in Brisbane had huge green tree frogs that would occupy their PVC drain pipes. They would then use the resonation the pipes would provide to magnify their nightly croak-fest.

Loud little buggers

The story goes that Ernest Hemingway, ever the lover of the sea and sailing, was befriended by many a skipper in his time. Ship captains believed 6 toed cats (polydactyls) were lucky, and one such captain gave one to Hemingway. Today there are nearly 60 descendants of that gift-cat living at his old home on KW:

Papa and his polydactyls (Not my pic - Obviously...)

Helping mum n dad with ranch work they just can’t do anymore. Continued where I left off at the beginning of the week. Also hit the pastures and arena.

Due to the risk of fire, hand weeded with a tri-nylon blade. Best thing ever for milkweed, star-thistle, Irish thistle, etc. especially for one long ass access road

Since it seems “The Ultimate Selfie Thread” has been removed or deleted. Here is a shameless selfie

random pics that YOU have taken.......

Mamma gets the credit for these today. She got to have fun with our good friend while I was working on things in the hangar. All in all, a good day.

They had lunch at the SLT Airport Cafe. Took only 16 minutes from wheels up to the overhead break at KPVF. Damn that thing is fast.....

I was able to get the nose gear back on the C-150 heavy.
