Forgot pics - San Diego last weekend to say goodbye to my daughter as she shoves off for her second deployment - this time as the NAV on a NATO exercise. It’s quite an honor, but as a parent it’s just so damned bittersweet. You want to see them grow, see them excel, chase their bliss, etc etc. Just really hard to say goodbye for so long. But she’s where she’s supposed to be at this moment in time. I can take some solace in that.

Was working up on a roof today and got some quality time watching this guy. He didn’t seem bothered by me at all working, no lie 20’ from him for 3 hours.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Wish her luck - she navigates the canal and locks today!
She's come a long way since I-Day, June 2012: Taking the Oath:      The shortest Midshipman in the last company (random placement), but I gotta hand it to the Navy - even though you wouldn't want her for her brawn, she's highly effective at where they have her, and I'm good with that!  I'm sure she was as frightened as the next Mid facing Plebe Summer, but when she flashed me that smile I knew she was going to make it.
