Hey Baz,

That is a fantastic macro shot. What did you use for that.

Truly Nat Geo quality

Cheers

Thanks, Bugs! Just a cheap Canon Powershot point and shoot. I used the Macro mode, as you mentioned - along with the flash set to auto.

Just got lucky with that one. You can't go wrong shooting animals and/or plants.

Nice!! I have a dated Canon G9 in a Canon underwater housing with a flash defuser. I was pleasantly surprised at some of the underwater pics it produced while scuba diving.

I will see if I can dig a few up.

Taken yesterday on my way to work. A conga line of emergency equipment clogged up our road so it never a good thing when they roll code past our house. Usually means exactly what I expected to find. A person in a C-172 didn’t quite make final...

Parked it in a bunch of trees east of “23”. But hey, they walked away without injury. A win win in regards to emergency landings. Wasn’t a good thing for the region, when I rolled into work I was told a C-152 lost its engine and made an emergency landing at the Auburn Airport. Yikes!!!!

Back from my 2nd overnight camping trip so far this year, very, very nice in many ways!
No snow encountered until we were 80 yards from the campsite... the patch was about basketball sized, minimal threat of slowing our progress.

Upper 50's and sunny, low 40's at night, lots of stars until light cloud cover after 10 pm.

My favorite hiking partner and Son

Treasure hunting the lake bottom

Morning campsite view

Breaking camp

Dock awaiting snow melt refill & summer boat traffic

We only saw a four other people on the hike in, no one else was crazy enough to hike to a sometimes island and spend the night this early in the year.

The last time my Son and I were there was 5 years ago, we missed being in the middle of the horrendous Oso slide by maybe 30 minutes, someone was watching out for us that day!

Drove the youngest son’s family possessions to their new place in AZ using my parents diesel and stock trailer. Pop rode shotgun.

Long day and drive, finishing up with unloading and transferring it all into a storage unit. running on hour 31 right now and man, am I ever punch drunk.
Working the 1730-0300 shift at work helped the overnight drive but it was still a ball buster run at 60 mph, especially since it’s been a long time since that.

Saw an awesome sunrise

Pulling the stock trailer up the grapevine felt like Death Race 2000, with me being in the middle of all the big rig crowd jockeying for positions in the far right lanes. Actually felt more like I had gone on a simple mountain bike ride and then finding myself accidentally in the middle of the Amgen Tour. An amateur in the big boy crowd. Glade we timed it so that it was a pull around midnight up the vine and through the LA basin during the cover of darkness, except for all of the closures due to freeway repairs being performed.

Get to head home tomorrow morning. A quick turnaround trip.

^The Argosy looks like all the bumper metal got used on the front, the rear looks a little embarrassed and tried to make up for it with lighting?

My Son's bike is beginning to look like a rat rod Triumph with it's mis-matched funky paint as purchased a while back.
It's attracted a steady stream of boxes to the front porch... seat, gaskets, side cover, headlight, taillights, turn signals, electronic ignition, handlebar switches, horn, tires, you know, the usual.

At least a fair chance the starboard carb is a bit rich

Oh yeah, we had to find an engine for it.
The original 650cc motor went into a Rickman frame and still lives there- in Oregon (even though you didn't ask).

My resourceful Son found a 750cc that wedged right in.

Pre-wedge inspection and ceremonial WD-40-ing

Wedging

Changing out an old nasty heater vent hose on the C-150 heavy and I find this......WTH?!?!?

Three inch hose clamps for the exhaust manifold shroud and firewall. Don’t really think the top one is correct

The attention to detail is just amazing. Love the “whatever works” mentality.

Finished up and waiting for the propeller come back from being overhauled. Still need to order a rear bulkhead, found some cracks.

One project wrapping up soon and now can start back on the SC.
