Wrong on both counts. Have you been listening to Faux News in your bunker?

And the way to alleviate this problem is overwhelming force and nothing else? Schools and hospitals and a mercedes won't do anything? C'mon man.

I know there's extremists that want to kill infidels(just like there's so called 'Christians' that have wanted Arabs dead for centuries), but the vast majority of Muslims and Christians want what everyone else wants - peace and the means to make daily life something other than a struggle for survival.

I just get a little frustrated with the "overwhelming force" concept that the western extremists use. It has never and will never work.

Go do some reading guys. Both of you are so clueless that I don't have enough time to bring you up to speed.

turbocarrera 08-13-2004 12:47 PM

Done lots.. I know quite a few devout Muslims.. none want me dead.. I know a girl that teaches at a private Muslim school - they love her.. great kids, very respectful..

Teach me, Mule.

Pick up a copy of Sword of the Prophet by Serge Trifkovic. Let me know what you think.

turbocarrera 08-13-2004 12:56 PM

Ok I will, and you read about the Crusades.

all kidding aside, it's too bad our military is over in Iraq securing Najaf instead of the borders of this nation.

Wow, and you are calling other people clueless.

I guess if you were a german in the 30s you would be telling us to read the 'protocols of zion' so we could learn more about the international jewish conspiracy.

Congradulations of being the dupe of 21st century fascism.

Funny, I thought that the military was specifically prohibited from acting as a domestic police force. But hey, you're the Pelican Left Wing Yap Dog, so you must be correct.

i know i'm correct, that's the one thing you're right about.

we have an illegal immigration problem here in the US and the military should most definitely be involved in securing our borders.

Yes I agree, sounds great! How about military checkpoints in major US cities, too, y'know, for "ID check" purposes...

350HP930 08-14-2004 08:26 AM

The military is authorized to protect our borders. I would rather have them keeping illegal aliens out of the country instead of killing iraqis.

dtw 08-14-2004 08:37 AM

They are NOT authorized to police our borders, however- there's a definite distinction between protect and police.

But I'll agree with you on this point - illegal immigration is an issue and has not been well-addressed by ANY administration in my recollection.

What's your point, Kach? What do you suggest we do to resolve the situation in Najaf?

Dan

1. Get the Press out, especially the Al Jezera (trouble makers).

2. Send in the expermental toys Rummy is just dieing to try out.

3. Send in the garbage trucks (to hold the dead) and haz-mat guys to clean up the kill zone.

Read this:

Iraq Evicts Reporters From Najaf
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=540&e=3&u=/ap/20040815/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq_media_evicted
The order would mean that the only news coverage of the ongoing violence in Najaf, one of the most revered cities to Shiite Muslims, would be provided by reporters embedded with the U.S. military.

Well, so much for the right wingers excuse that we are bringing freedom to iraq and freeing them from tyranny.

No, no, no.........that is is this article:

http://www.truthout.org/docs_04/081004X.shtml
According to Southall and other soldiers, the guardsmen began by separating the prisoners from the Iraqi policemen.

Some of the detainees said they had been held for three days with little water and no food. "Many of these prisoners had bruises and cuts and belt or hose marks all over," Southall said. At least one had a gunshot wound to the knee.

"I witnessed prisoners who were barely able to walk," Southall said.

350, so you equate Sword of the Prophet with Protocals of the elders of Zion. Surely I must have mis-understood?
