Comedy Night with John Kerry

I saw a hilarious commercial by John Kerry last night. He starts out by saying "I have a specific plan for the economy". So I'm thinking, great - this will be the first time I've heard anything specific from him. Then he says, "I have a 3-point plan: 1) I'm going to help small business owners, 2) ...... " Huh? That's the friggin' specific plan?

What the heck does "help" mean and when was the last time a Lib helped a small business owner (other than writing government checks to finance minority business startups)? The only thing he could do to help me is to make a BIG tax cut. Unless he could provide me with, say, another marketing person to find more clients or maybe provide me with a personal assistant so I could take more time off or maybe a free cleaning lady to tidy things up once a week ..... other than that, what the heck could he possibly "help" me with? It's so comical.

Of course, in reality this commercial isn't intended to get the small business vote at all. It's to get the vote of the general public who have no clue about small businesses, but will see it and say, "See! That John Kerry is even going to help small business ....."

Kerry has been pretty light on details. True enough. Bush hasn't been much better: "trust me, I'll make you safe". I am not impressed with the results of the last four years. I'll take the gamble.

Well, I don't agree with much of Bush's spending but he at least has a record we can all look at. Kerry has absolutely nothing except for a 20-year voting record that is more liberal than even Ted Kennedy. That should scare everyone who lives outside of Mass. ! On the other hand, for all the Bush-bashing that has gone on about "the war on terror", I can't seem to remember a single incident of terror in the United States since 9/11. In fact, come to think of it, there hasn't been one! There've been plenty of opportunities. Super Bowls have come and gone, massive 4th of July celebrations, Olympics, amusement parks, hundreds of thousands of airline flights, etc., etc. - all prime targets. But nothing's happened. Hmmmm, maybe Bush's policies on terror are working???? Or as the Lib's will point out: we've just been lucky.

island_dude... you won't be impressed by anything Bush does, it's how you people are. We haven't been attacked again, and we've killed 3/4 of al Qaeda. I just feel so unsafe knowing that there are 50 million more free people in the world. I just hate knowing that all of those women are voting and going to school. Geeze, they should be oppressed and miserable, then we'll really be safe.
