I've got three browsers opened: foxnews, cnn, and PelicanParts OT. Seems after all we've been through together, it makes sense to keep track of stuff here!

* sniff * I feel a tear coming on... :( Group hug anyone?

bryanthompson 11-02-2004 06:48 PM

So far:

Pop Vote: *19% total
George W. Bush 53% 14,796,099
John Kerry 46% 12,877,747

Electoral
Bush 170
Kerry 112

Florida:
GW: (2,048,774) 51.7%
JK: (1,877,821) 47.4%
with 52.8% total reported.

Z-man 11-02-2004 06:51 PM

Add to that Ohio (20 Electoral votes):
GW: (640,507) 52%
JK: (587,926) 48%
with only 20% total reported.

It's a close one!

bryanthompson 11-02-2004 06:52 PM

bryanthompson 11-02-2004 07:11 PM

Seriously, someone better call FL

2,693,391 Bush 51.2%
2,517,940 Kerry 47.9%

72.8% total reported.

dd74 11-02-2004 07:16 PM

Who's watching CNN? Is it my imagination or are they delaying the inevitable. I.E. a lot of "remember, this is unaccounted for," "it's still early in the returns," etc., etc...

Z-man 11-02-2004 07:16 PM

Bush: 182.
Kerry: 112.

OH (20 EV's), FL (27), PA (21), and CA (55) aren't in yet. The polls are still open in CA, and on these east coast states, it is too close to call just yet.

singpilot 11-02-2004 07:16 PM

Let the whining begin.

I have been voluntarily absent from this forum for 7 months.

I am really looking forward to coming back tomorrow morning reminding everyone that I said this election wasn't going to be THAT close.

I am counting on the afternoon departures to France being crowded with all the whiners.

Yes, I am having fun tonight.

OK Island, I give - why is the 'th' in 'Rather' superscripted?

ob.update: W: 193; The Poodle: 112.

red-beard 11-02-2004 07:17 PM

Yeah, but will you be able to hear the radio over the sweet sound of the six? Mmmmm.

Z-man 11-02-2004 07:17 PM

Make that:
Bush: 193
Kerry: 112

Bush leads the popular vote: 52% to 48%

Heheh...I think they're just trying to be a bit more conservative this time around in calling each state, considering the drubbing they took in '00. Have you noticed that every few minutes they carefully highlight "Notice that none of the states we have forecast so far have flipped colors subsequent to our predictions!!"

red-beard 11-02-2004 07:20 PM

CNN is quicker at updating the website to show the states.

Face saving...

Adam 11-02-2004 07:26 PM

I didn't think Florida would be so close!

So, what's the concensus? Can Kerry still win?

bryanthompson 11-02-2004 07:32 PM

holy crap, guys look at NH:

47% in

G dub and JK are separated by 147 votes...

151,000 something each

It's still early. West Coast polls are still open. But by and large, it isn't looking good for him so far.

EDIT: FOX news says the maps showing red and blue look just like 2000...

jyl 11-02-2004 07:34 PM

Don't know why they haven't called Florida (27 electoral votes) for Bush already. Seems obvious, unless uncounted absentee ballots are a large factor.

Ohio (20 electoral votes) genuinely looks too close to call. Based on precincts reporting so far, Bush is ahead. But most of the precincts that have reported so far are from small counties. The three largest counties by far (I assume these are the most urban ones, but I don't know) are leaning Kerry, so far: Cuyahoga (17% reported, 60% Kerry 40% Bush), Franklin (68% reported, 51% Kerry 49% Bush), and Hamilton (9% reported, 51% Kerry 49% Bush). The next two largest counties (Montgomery and Summit) are also leaning Kerry, so far.

Looks like Kerry and Bush are splitting the other Great Lakes states - Wisconsin Michigan (leaning Bush, but <20% reported: 27 electoral votes) Iowa and Minnesota (leaning Kerry, but <20% reported: 17 votes), Indiana (called for Bush, 11 votes) and Illinois (called for Kerry, 21 votes). So this group of state might well end up 38 votes for Bush, 38 for Kerry.

[Deleted the rest, there were math errors!

Not promising there were no math errors! Did this on the fly, on my fingers.

bryanthompson 11-02-2004 07:35 PM
