Dude - I lost a cat (biatch over the road ran him over). He was actually more like a rabid dog than a cat. Sad moment - he rests in our back yard under the rose garden.

Best thing to do is pick up another one straight away. Preferably one from an animal shelter. At least that way you will save another one from skid/death row.

If, God forbid, your cat does not make it and you miss him too much, you still have the option to have a new one cloned from the old one, like this woman did.
Unfortunately, it will still cost you $50,000 to do that.

God bless you my good friend, we will always love you and will always remember you.

He had a cancer that had grown too large around the intestine and had spread to too many other areas in that region, highly inoperable. I made one of the most difficult decisions in my life, to end his, so that he will not suffer anymore... We had the chance to be with him the past few days and he was as wonderful as ever, lying in my lap, purring, and enjoying his "kitty caviar" dish... i even woke up early yesterday morning and we watched the sunrise together..he had a very good life and was a very sweet happy cat, brought us happiness for almost 10 years and it was cut short today...
thank you all for your thoughts and prayers, they are very meaningful.
-Emmanuel

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Oh man, this is heart breaking! I'm sorry for your loss Emmanuel.

My kitten SQL isn't doing well after 2 visits to the vet this week her fever can't be shaken. She seldom eats and we are having to get her fluids ever other day. She could have FIP http://www.vetinfo.com/cfip.html which is usually fatal. She is too young to die.

Then our other cat Puff nearly died last night. He was at the vet today also and has some type of intestinal cancer. He is 15 years old and probably won't make it to Xmass, he has been sick for over a year. Puff freaked out last night and tried to **** or puke everywhere. Then Sasha foamed at the mouth for some reason. Its getting like a cat version of Dawn of the Dead.

Now we are probably going to be digging a grave for Puff in the back yard this week. We'll bury him next to his brother Eyes, we hope we don't lose SQL. This Xmas is a disaster and glad I never put up lights this year.

Even our vet said this last few months were bad, he is putting more animals to sleep than saving, what the hell.

My feelings go out to you for your loss. My cat is going to be 18 next April - that makes her a little over 80 in human years now. I've also had her since she was a few weeks old. I will be very unhappy when she finally isn't around anymore. Take some time to grieve and get another pet later on. I still have fond memories of my first cat "Browny" that I got from a junkyard in 1949.

OMG on_ramp, I'm so very sorry for your loss. He sounds like he was a wonderful kitty, and remember this, better to have loved and lost than never loved at all. In other words, that little darling touched your heart in good ways that will stay with you for the rest of your life.

God bless Kiwi.

my thoughts are with you. we had all hoped for a happy ending, you can feel proud knowing that you did everything you could.we planted a tree in our cat's memory. A new rescued pet is the best therapy for a cat lover.
god bless Kiwi

Up defines down, left needs right, the saddest you feel means the happier you were. Alot of people have been touched, Kiwi served the world well...

Emmanuel, I am very, very sorry for the loss of Kiwi. Healing prayers to you and your family. It is very hard to make the decision you were faced with today. Your love for him guided you to the right one.

We lost our 16 1/2 year old kitty Keela to cancer in March. He is buried under a 100+ year old oak tree on our property. I think of him daily and still tear up about how much I miss him.

Take care,
Mary

Emmanual,
Sorry to hear about your little friend.

I've had several dogs and one cat in my lifetime and this is the hardest part of having them.

There's an innocence about them that's like a breath of fresh air in this crazy world we live in.
