Yeah, k911, it sounds very familiar. Because he's been peddling the same bullshyt tripe for years, and has been spectacularly wrong about it before. Take a look at that and tell me how much cred. Mr. Hersh has. Well, how much he should have.

But, you know, that was way back in 2001 ... and nobody's memory goes back that far, so he probably thought he could hornswaggle another bunch of his sympathists. The Daily Show, you say.....

Oh, and if we do wind up going into Iran, I'll bet you a brand new dollar that our ever-dispassionate, evenhanded media will claim that the Pentagon at some point said (whatever that means) it expected to be greeted by flowers in the streets, b/c that's what Mr. Hersh said he believed they believe.

It'll be one of those "everybody knows" things that's just taken for granted when talking about the invasion of Iran -- you know, the Pentagon (or W, or Rummy or whomever) just expected to be greeted with flowers in the streets!! Those fools!!

Just like W said "imminent", just like he said there were Iraq-9/11 ties, just like he LIED about Iraq attempting to purchase uranium in Niger, etc..... you know, these things that everybody knows.

k911 -- Before you buy into Hersh and start quoting him chapter and verse, take a look at this Los Angeles Times Article. .

Yes, the LA Times publishing a piece calling Hersh the "journalistic equivalent of Oliver Stone: a hard-left zealot who subscribes to the old counterculture conceit that a deep, dark conspiracy is running the U.S. government." He's so off-the-reservation that one of the most liberal papers in the country effectively disavows him.

never heard of him till the daily show the other night. i don't recall "buying in", just thought it to be an interesting. what if he is right this time? or just part of what he wrote is correct?

to reiterate, i just don't feel that war with another middle eastern country is a positive thing. i agree that the threat of an attack may be needed to get them to act, but that attack should be a LAST resort. why not play along in the talks with the other european countries that are going on currently? would trying that hurt?
