I'm also a computer geek and i got sick of destroying suits when moving stuff or working in a pc so i haven't used one in over 8 years.
Jeans and a t-shirt for just junking arround, nice top and pants if i'm meeting a vendor / contractor or going out to dinner from work.

I going to hijack my own thread for a sec... Justin boots/western wear, I used to work at a facility that housed Mr. Justin's step son, the residents were employed by the facility, yada yada. He wore a shirt, boots, and shorts when it was warm out. He didn't look one bit out of place, given the circumstances.

Two things I never take to work with me....a tie and a work ethic.

Yup, suit and tie everyday. During summer, I tend to wear dress trousers and either a chambray (sp?) shirt if I don't have meetings, but the rest of the year sees me in a suit.

My annual dry-cleaning bill is astronomical.

Pretty much the same. On summer day's I'll even walk the office wearing shorts and flip flops. Standard attire is jeans with t-shirts or polo shirts. I have no problems meeting with customer dressed this way - we are afterall a bunch of arrogant know it all programmers. While they were all out getting drunk at Frat parties we were stuck in a basement lab writing code. When I go to DC I never wear jeans and almost always wear a tie. I hate DC.

Shirt and tie everyday. If I'm going to a conference or going to man a booth at a show, I'll wear a suit. My dry cleaners love me.

Jeans and a polo type shirt or nice t-shirt (like my 356 one). Shorts when it is gonna be 75 or higher. *Never* apply for a job where a tie is required. I love working in education

Part of my contract with my current employer (3+ years now) was that I NEVER have to wear a tie, period. He agreed and while we work in business casual most of the time we are also sometimes in shorts and polo shirts. When overseas will wear a uniform but NO FRIGGING TIE!

Wore one for more ore less 25 years and will never do it again...

Only thing they are good for are tying the ladies to the... possibly should not continue...

Every day I wear the same thing. Exactly. No changes. Draw-string pants. Pull-over shirt. Both blue. No buttons, no zipper, no tie. Basically I wear pajamas to work. Oh yeah, I wear the most comfortable running shoes I can find with big fluffy white socks. I rarely wear jeans anymore because they are not as comfortable as my work clothes. Discomfort is not a part of my day.

All day long I hear other docs complain about the long hours, decreasing income, increasing paperwork. I think these guys have never had a real job.

I know people who sit in traffic two hours a day to get to a job where the boss hates you. I remember my construction jobs. Freezing in the winter, roasting in the summer. Hands bleeding. Back aching. Pure misery.

You are right. I have a great job. I am grateful for every day I get to go to work. Retirement? They'll have to kick me out.

Nope the 911 is silver....like my hair! The heat is relative, you get used to it. A/C in the daily driver and coat off enroute to client meets.

No they told us that friday could be casual day ...but we had to wear a company logo golf shirt and Dockers. Now you MAY be able to put those clothes on my cold, stiff body. I told them that wasn't casual day ..it was uniform day. So now I wear an all black suit, shirt and tie every friday in protest. Been doing it for over a year now.
