Car and Driver's 50th
What a great read.
"A Road and Track editor once told me I was 'Car and Driver's last good editor.' That should have provided me with solace, but considering the source, it never did." Wilkinson - you da man!

Funny thing is that it has only been "Car and Driver" for 43 years or so.. forget the exact original name, but I have them as well as the 3 transition issues...

the problem with the American car magazines is that they are 'pressured' into giving the American car companies good reviews or else they lose the advertising revenue (according to Wilkinson, at least)
Still doesn't explain how the Chrysler 300 - a car that was panned by almost every non-american magazine - won CnD's Car of the Year in 2004...

it's the only issue that I've bought since my high school subscription ran out... long ago
pretty interesting reading, about the automotive times, some nostalgia, some funny stories hidden in various employees' essays. i probably won't buy another issue for another 10 years
