I love this. Every leftie that you mention this to does exaxtly the same thing. It goes like this:
Q. Did you hear about Dick Durbin saying that our soldiers are committing attrocities similar to the nazis, the commies & Pol Pot.
A. Bush sucks. The war in Iraq is immoral & the whole world hates us.
Q. Yeah but this guy is lying & comparing our soldiers to people who slaughtered millions.
A.. You get all your information from Limbaugh, you NEOCON.
Q. But US lives may be lost becuse the enemy is using these statements on the senate floor the recruit & motivate new troops.
A. You mean Bush is using this to recruit & motivate troops? Now I'm really pissed.

Thy a different source than "The Citizen" & you'll see that 1. HIs statements are blatantly incorrect. 2. The FBI says they don't have ANY report that says what he purports. So it appears that as much as you love it when guys slam the USA, in this case, Turban Durbin has left ya'll hanging.

the Pentagon seems to confirm that we are. It's pretty simple really. Your beef is with Rumsfeld, not the Left.

And it all boils down to becoming what we hate! Quite simply, our enemies use these same tactics. Either we stand for something greater than they, or we reduce ourselves to their level.

I know your argument against this logic and I feel that it's weak and indefensible in the face of The Constitution. Honestly, the Right is doing more to tarnish our nation and all that it stands for than any terrorist ever could.

So you're against interrogation period, fair enough. I think that's a ignorant and ill-advised position, but I understand the passivist mind.

Myself, I understand that in order to retrieve the info we want the detainee must go through some discomfort. I will guarantee that our interrogation methods are among if not thee most humane used by any country in the world.

I'm sure the Nazis put them in cells, asked them questions, and caused them a certain level of discomfort in doing so. To that point we are comparable and I am not in the least bit ashamed. However, the Nazis went many multiples past that level. But we both know that Durbin was not equating us in that first example, but rather using it to paint an image of "savage Americans". He should be ashamed.

You're out of your mind. Turbin Durbin can't back up his crackpot statements or he would. Now maybe in your world AC on high is the same thing as a gas chamber, but not in mine. Find a holocaust surviver & ask if they had a kosher menu. Nothing personal but anyone who can't see the difference between a nazi death camp and Gitmo is a moron.


Remember, Camp Gitmo, is your carribean escape from the stress of jihad where you get a free prayer rug, koran, set of beads and beanie, all payed for by the infidel.

BTW, the targa has kept up with 996s at Lime Rock. A 951 is of no concern, except perhaps for watching out for coolant leaks, or is that broken control arms, or just skydiving value.

Thanks Tony! They are 996 C4S wheels with spacers.

I've wanted these wheels for 2 years since I first saw them. I think they really work with the blocky lines of the Targa, and the 255s out back reall y hook up! That pick was taken with no decklid, I had just pulled off the ducktail that looked great with Cup IIs, but not so much with these.



This winter I'm cutting off the Targa bar and going widebody cab with one of Thom's new hardtops. My one mod will be to pull the front quarterglass out so it will sort of be a poor-man's speedster when the top is off.

BTW, the funniest thing happened on Linda Vester (Fox News 1PM talk show). She was trying to justify why we wouldn't kill Bin Laden since Goss says we know where OBL is. It was hillarious!

Also, I was totally wrong when 6 months ago I said the whole christian right thing would turn into an internal blood bath on the Right. A little surprised. Instead, mixed messages are going to do it. You had to see Linda backpedal when the audience was cheering her liberal ex-CIA OBL expert guest who said we should get him and kill him no matter what. She was like a small child in the middle of a Wal*Mart parking lot looking for her mommy. Can't wait to see what Hannity says.

That's exactly what I was saying last week, I'm pretty sure I've never "surrendered" and highly doubt I ever will. The same can be said for many more people here on ANY side of an argument.

I guess it's just the nature of the beast. It's foolish to think one will ever change the mind of another in these threads. Post after post of "sourced" info and it's all argued to the point where fact becomes secondary to getting one's point across.
