There seems to be a lot of differences in engine covers. Some are flat, some are raised, some have strakes, some have a little cut-out in the back.

The TR is at the top of my ultimate lust list of dream cars, of course I can not afford to buy one much less maintain it.

Heck I can't even afford/maintain a 930 if I wanted to!

TR's and teenage boy's? How many of us bought a Porsche because of the little boy living inside our head?

"Everything's relative I guess. The rear brakes on a TR use 930 turbo brake pads. The 348 GTB uses 930 pads all the way around."

And the F40 uses the same pads as the 951. I've been taking an extra set to the track hoping that Amir might fry his brakes someday. But the brakes were one of his first upgrades, 15.5" rotors, Brembo 6-piston calipers.. etc.

I was looking at the TR about 5 years ago as the 1st-year models, the '86 with weird 1-sided mirrors were in the $55-65k range. Of course, you gotta add $2-3k for some new wheels as those Michelin metric wheels gotta go. I'm very much a DIY kinda guy, but dropping the engine to replace the timing-belt just seems ludicrous to me... And paying $8k for the dealer to do it seems even more ridiculous... Maybe I'll buy one with a toasted motor and drop a Chevy V8 into it...

Hmmm. Wonder how much the 906 will go for? Personally, I think the most beautiful design Porsche ever made.

The Enzo looks fixable ....... as long as you have a spare CF tub.
