Sorry. Actually I was thinking about them not calling a mandatory evacuation until the morning of the day the hurricane hit. The morning after Bush called the governor to personally request an evacuation.

I see the AP is still misleading with the Bush's statement about not anticipating the levee breach.
In this paragraph they replaced the original discussion about 'overtopped' levees with 'breached' levees: The AP separately obtained video earlier from other briefings before the hurricane made landfall. That video showed U.S. officials warning that Katrina might breach levees Last edited by 914GT; 03-02-2006 at 07:01 PM.. |

Dam the media! Damm the Republican Congress for finding deep and systemic flaws in the federal response to Katrina! Damm those insurgents for waging a three year bloody battle instead of greeting us as liberators! Damm those 2,200 hundred American soldiers that have died after the mission was accomplished! Damm all those administration insiders that have told us how incompetent and flawed this administration is! Damm 90% of the population that believes turning our ports over to a U.A.E. company is wrong! Damm all those that didn't think Harriet Miers would make a fine justice! Damm all those "fiscal watchdogs" that have a problem with record spending and record deficits! Damm those Americans that want to make an overseas call without being wiretapped! Finally, damm all those that believe America should not torture!

Bush is God. Bush has never done anything that could remotely be called a "mistake." Bush is all-knowing, all seeing.
If it wasn't for the media and the libs and the Iraqis and FEMA and Homeland Security and the Muslims and the Europeans and the U.A.E. and Gitmo and Congress and the Courts and the Constitution, everyone would see the light. Bush is God

There's a big difference between deifying someone and defending them against lies, deceptions, and distortion. The laest AP story is a perfect example of how media distorts for their own agenda. It's all there for you to see if you took the time to look.

The AP gets caught and issues a correction , late on a Friday. The lies over the past few days have already propagated on the wires and the truth will never catch up. This is how the mainstream media works.
Edit: And the Democratic Party continues to spread this falsehood. I think it's safe to say they will never post a correction. Their lemming followers will continue to believe the lie. Last edited by 914GT; 03-03-2006 at 07:45 PM.. |

Bush did nothing wrong. The Republican Congress that severely criticized the federal response to Katrina, finding massive failures from the president on down, is part of the "liberal media." Anyone that finds fault with anything the president has ever done is a lefty liberal enemy sympathizer. And a liar. Bush has never made a mistake. His administration will be remembered forever as the most competent, honest, open and effective the country has ever known. Bush is God.
