Exclamation !!! Help with Huricane Wilma Update !!!

Does anyone know of a website listing names, posting pictures or evacuation destinations of tourists being evacuated from the Cancun area?

Has anyone heard from family or friends that were evacuated? Was it chaos, were the evacuation centers chaotic, etc?

My wife's sister, husband and kids were evacuated to the Merida area, but we have not heard from them for the last 1 1/2 days.

I looked through the Red Cross's website, but nothing really stuck out.

Thanks in advance!
Ken

I wish I knew Ken.

I'm putting shutters up today, just having a short Pelican break.

All the best

Thanks.
Good luck, hopefully it won't strengthen too much across the Gulf.

What part of FL are you in Juan?

That storm churned over the Cancun area for way too long. I would imagine their infastructure is toast. When Francis parked over us last year for 24 hours we were witout power and phones for a minimum of 10 days.

I am sure they are being looked after and will be on the 1st plane out of there as soon as the airports open. I am also sure to conditions are not too comfortable but livable.

Today in Florida has baan a wonderful day no rain and breezy. I took the P-car for a ride around town to run a few last minute errands. Tomarrow will be another story.

We got a hold of them last night. Seems that they were able to get a room at a nice hotel in Merida, which is about 200 miles from Cancun. Thanks for the replies.

Hope everyone in FL is doing well!

Three tornados and 70 - 79 MPH winds here.

Now it is just blue sky. Only damage in the area seems to be knocked over trees.

Some, but not nearly as bad as last year.

Port Saint Lucie home lost a few shingles, but no other damage. No damage inside. And there is power there already. Sister's home in Key West is ok, flood waters under the house, but as it is elavated and on stilts, flood not a huge problem. Her mother in laws house (ground level) seriously flooded.

PSL Turnpike service stations backing up for > mile. Hwy 70 clear. Fuel avaialble. Hwy 75 bumper to bumper southbound.

Good luck.

This is where I live, we got the eye wall here. It was VERY intense.

Gas stations everywhere are backed up for a mile. My dad was just here from Melbourne and its a lot calmer there.

Fun stuff.
