No wonder we have so many lawyers. Dumb efforts like this will require many of us to defend ourselves (needlessly) in front of the judge. Surely there will be many cases requiring a good legal defense attny. The upside for Porsche (and BMW) ... a spike in new Porsche sales as a large goup of succesful litigators make their way down to the local dealer and pop for a new Porsche (or BMW).
This is about the dumbest thing I've seen in this state. Good intentions...bad idea.

This is pure BS and hope that the idiot DA or police chief who told them to do this is busted for it. I can see the lawsuits now and hope they pay dearly for it. Joe A

There are even church's there who have their name on it and in the lower corner an image of a cocktail glass and a red X over it. In other words, if you drink you are not welcome at their church. Guess they forget that Jesus drank wine...

Well here's the latest from ol' Tejas....
The Dallas Convention Bureau has rec'd some complaints from convention organizers as the national media attention now has people spooked. Who wants to go to a convention, meet up in the hotel lobby bar for drinks, and end up in a "hotel" with bars on the windows? It's funny how this stuff all comes around...

Pot gives you the munchies. You will eat almost anything in sight, but nachos, twinkies, donuts etc are preferred. Then you sit there and watch television for hours... Blow makes most people horny. You want to screw just about anything, the dog/cat included (but they are too fast) or almost anything at hand. Baring that I have heard of people painting the entire house in a half hour, waxing the car (down to the bare metal) or vacuuming the house several times. Booze is by far the most destructive (as long as meth is not thrown into the mix) of almost any drug. Its legal, available and socially acceptable in most places. Ed's comment is right on from where I sit. If this is allowed to continue then conventions and meetings will change their schedule and go to a friendlier city. I can agree with keeping drunks out of cars but targeting hotels where guests are walking to their rooms and not causing trouble is going to screw the Police and DA.

Joe, I have to strongly disagree.
IMO, "blow" is far more destructive than booze. I have watched several lives go down the proverbial toilet because of that stuff. I know lots of people who drink alcohol and still function as a part of society. I don't know anyone who does blow who has not suffered greatly because of it. |

Compare the numbers guys. We lose far more people in this country due to booze than we ever will to cocaine. If its ever legalized, then that will probably change. Both of you guys know someone who could not handle it, and hurt their lives and family due to blow, but I am sure that you also know others who have done the same due to booze. You can buy booze on almost every street corner...
I as well have known several people whose lives have been ruined, or close to it by coke. The fact that its illegal helps keep the numbers down. You want to talk about deadly and what really ruins people is meth. Worst thing I have ever seen and it destroys almost everyone it comes in contact with. People can be a social user of pot, coke or booze and remain productive. Meth users almost always die within 5 years and take everyone in their lives down with them. As well by far the next thing is cigarettes. We could lose a jumbo jet every week full of people and it would come close to the numbers killed each year due to cigarettes. Its well over 50,000 people a year, and thats the number killed in over 10 years of war in Vietnam, yet we still see people every day smoking. Its a very simple drug delivery system, giving nicotine to the user with every puff. Problem is we know its deadly and addictive but people are too used to it.
