This is truly amazing. I visit so seldom anymore, but today I experienced an epiphamy. I think I have gas. Thom is writing posts that I would swear came from the right, Fastpat has a friend, and I actually was able to laugh while reading this thread. One thing concerns me, though. I didn't know you had to have so much education to participate in intellectual conversation. Pat, with all that (supposed) education, why do you spend all day trolling Pelican's BBS?

O0ps, now I'm in for it!!! I'm gonna get mine. I'm in twubble.

PS. be nice to me Pat, I only have one degree, and it's 28 years old.

Why would you be interested in a post about Michael's brother?

You guys are exhibiting a typical "pile on" mentality, which unfortunately is not confined to 14 year old boys. I certainly don't argee with everything Pat posts, but he's a pretty clear thinker, and knows his history.

While this is entertaining in a train wreck sort of way, it would be nice if someone would actually respond to the substance of his posts, instead of attacking his style or his (supposed) mental status.

Well, now, isn't this a fine example of the pot calling the kettle black? But methinks you forgot something, Rode, ol' buddy. Surely you meant to include a paragraph in which you mention how this is "all Bush's fault."

The Germans had no way to knock out the production facilities that had been moved eastward out of range of the two engine aircraft that Germany had concentrated on . The USSR was pumping out Stormovek planes and T34 tanks far faster than the Germans could destroy them and, although "inferior", there were so many that the FW 190 or the ME 109 could not stem the tade and were simply out numbered.
Its almost certain that Moscow would have fallen and that would have been a major blow. As it was the Nazi's were on the outskirts of Moscow.

Stalin was ranting and raving for FDR/Eisenhower to open a second front to divert Hitlers production from Russia. Until D-Day in 1944 it was touch and go with the Eastern Front. After 6 June it was only a matter of time, no matter what anyone says.

Since the Germans ran out of steam in the summer of 1943 on the eastern front, and Stalin finally decided to release troops and equipment he'd been withholding from combat, your theory falls a bit short old man.

The US was used solely to enable the complete overrun of Germany by the British, French, and the mercantilists in D.C..

In your meticulous study of world history, has the United States of America ever done anything right?

Because I mean it wasn't like we just wanted to win the war. I remember fondly listening to my Grandfather talk about how how he fought so the US could be just used by countries like FRANCE ( not that they surrendered, hey here's a though put up a little resistence before your country is over run)

He's already given away his position. That would be a big no, because we defeated precious Dixie 140 years ago, so everything we've ever done since then has been illegal, illegitimate, unconstitutional, etc.

Americans have done a great deal right, the US government has done little right since 1815. It has become progressively worse every year, staged a coup d'etat in 1861-1865, and again from 1932-1945.

The US government is not America, but ruling elite in this country hope for and encourage confusion between the two.

The French aren't my favorite people, largely because I don't care for their history or culture, but they did loose more than 100,000 in combat before surrendering to Germany in 1940.

Big whoop!...Obviously many more were willing to fight and die for their country...in the other countries that did not surrender immediately...Poland, UK, US, Russia, China, etc

Freedom is not free.
