From what i've been told it actually cost more to execute someone than it does to keep them in prison for life. I'm sure someone would be more than will to shoot him for free, i bet u could put that up on ebay and get some pretty big money for charity. i would rather see him in prison for life and let him get it with no lube instead of getting what he wants which is to be executed so he can become a marytr.

Somehow his sentence will be manipulated in the ME to reinforce the US as being weak.. not that I believe to understand them so I'm only guessing.

Life sentence is good for this clown.
No martyr crap. No virgin crap. No propaganda that can be given to the barbarians on a silver plate. What the hell ever happened to doing time with hard labor...any kind of physical labor? Would be nice for society to get something out of the ....what, $35 K a year it'll cost to keep this guy alive and entertained? Hope they put him in general population with guys from the greater NYC area. |

Why in the world would we NOT execute someone to avoid making him a martyr? By those standards, we'd have no death penalty for any terrorist, even bin Laden. We should not let others' sick beliefs dictate how we apply our penal code. I highly doubt Moussaoui will ever be in general population. If he doesn't deserve the death penalty, we need to abolish cap. punishment. Only in America. I can't imagine what folks in other "streamlined justice" countries are thinking of us now.

It's probably a wash cost wise whether he's executed or imprisoned for life. No 72 virgins for him though. I think he should be washed down with hog fat on a weekly basis & maybe even splatter some on his Koran.

He's what, 38? OK say he lives to 75 - that's 37 years in Super Max in Colorado.
From what I understand, he'll be out of general population in a solitary cell, he'll get one hour of exercise per day by himself in a dog run type area, he will take his meals in his cell, and he'll have no TV or radio. Just a *****load of time to wait for his final reward. Solitary cells measure 7 feet, 1 inch by 12 feet, 1 inch, but at least half the floor space is filled with fixtures. Other cells are 10 feet by 12 feet. About a third of the cells are for solitary confinement. Cell amenities currently include a concrete bed, an 18-inch-high, fixed-in-place concrete stool, a fixed writing shelf, knobless stainless-steel shower and a stainless-steel unit containing a seatless toilet and knobless wash basin. Supermax prisoners live in virtual isolation and are rarely allowed out of their cells. Cameras and microphones record nearly everything they do. In the case of terrorist inmates, who often are imprisoned under special national security provisions, that can include conversations with lawyers. Varying levels of freedom are allowed at the prison, according to officials and attorneys. The most severe restrictions allow for only an hour outside each day. Many inmates spend as much as four to five hours outside their cells a day...But some convicted terrorist inmates have stopped going outside because of the required searches they must endure.

i think, too, that the cost factor will never ever be recovered. the real damage in terms of cost, in which he shared responsibility..is priceless. the abominable loss of life to so many loved ones, family and friends of the victims. makes the cost of 30+ years of imprisonment seem a pittance. denying him his martyrdom at an additional financial burden to the taxpayer is a necessary evil. i prefer to pay to watch him rot. don't know what my 'share' of this overall burden would actually calculate to be, but if they asked me, i'd write the check today with a smile..

If they convicted him to death - it would be 10 years before they exterminated him anyway. Better to not grant him his wish of martyrdom. Should make him share his cell with a pig. I really hope he ends up as someone's girlfriend - squeal like a pig for me boy!

Barrage him with Barbra Streisand music AND films.
No, that's too much for any man. Even Moussaoui doesn't deserve that.

"Paris may seek Moussaoui transfer to France" I sincerely hope the answer is "not only no, but fuch no!" ![]()

And the irony there is that Rosie and Babs probably secretly think Moussaoui is the victim.

Stick him in with the general population in Rikers Island. Justice would surely be served!
Maybe if he's a good boy...in a coupla years when he falls off the DBM radar screen... he might get moved so that his 'rights" aren't infringed upon. That would be the "sensitive, inclusive" thing to do. |
