Need Pimp'n garage ideas
Gents, I am tricking out my garage within reason. I have beautiful maple finish cabinets newly-installed. Next is dark brown varigeated acid wash flooring, then 4" low voltage halogen cans in the ceiling. I'll have a nice sound system and Speed playing on the LCD mounted to the wall over the work bench.
Need some fresh ideas on other items. I don't want to go crazy with garage-type signs or posters. I'm putting up a lighted display case on one wall with my motorcycle and car minis and surrounded by my framed racing photos and a few trophies. But beyond that, I need ideas on other trick things. For example, the garage door openers look terrible plastered against the ceiling. Any ideas how to hide them a bit better? Here's a really trick item, but too pricey. I know its a F-item, but of course, I'm open to Porsche items as well. Keep in mind that I'm not really much of a DIY guy, so this isn't a work garage. More like a shrine to the cars and bikes! I'm going for the museum look with soft lighting. |

what do you do for a living, and are they hiring?!
![]() A friend of mine had a 51 Chevy pickup restored, an his plan is to build a house with a 4-car garage. The garage is going to be set up as a rec-room type of thing, with sports memoribilia and the like. The truck is kindof the centerpiece for the whole room. I think he wants it to be like a large living room area... basically.

Do you have room for a pool table with all the cars/bikes? How about bench seating so when you are hanging out talking Ferrari with fellow Porsche owners. Do you have shelving for all your car cleaning supplies? How about one of these?

Good suggestions.... keep em coming, please.
Its going to be a bit crowded, but I might be able to squeeze in a small couch and table or 2 chairs, perhaps. Its going to be a challenge.

Hehehe... Lili will like those shoes, but not the rest of it
![]() These iDrive wall-mounted garage door openers look pretty good. Looks like they'll eliminate the garage door opener and the belt/track/electrics.

I think the Ferrari is too showy for the garage.
You should give it to me and get an MB or Bentley.

A real or reproduction front nose cone/wing assembly from a Scuderia Ferrari F1 car hung vertically on the wall. Doesn't get much cooler than that IMO...
If you're a Vale fan how about a big poster of "The Doctor" himself...?

A Ferrari F1 piece would be amazing... not sure where to track one down & I'd bet it would cost more than the whole garage. I have a cool pic of me and Vale that I'll have framed and on the wall!
Anyone one to take an '05 Road King Custom off my hands? That will clear up a *whole lotta* space.

I just don't think the Harley is really welcome anywhere in the house... maybe the side yard
![]() Here are a couple pics (work in progress) of the cabinets and what I have to work with.

Hi, here are 2 pics I took at the at the Matsuda Museum in Japan. Just to give you an idea of the lighting, and stuff to put on the walls. I think the F1 flags would be great!
Cheers The goofy dude with the napsack is me ... sorry, tried to cut myself out of the pic .

Tim,
Is that your garage? Wow. I'm jealous. Now I really need to get a new job with a 500% raise so I can afford a house in So. Cal.

Little stuff could make a huge difference. The on wall commercial openers would open up the ceiling, which could be improved by eliminating all the exposed conduit and texturing as a house would be. Cabinets look excellent, I would install a new raised panel house door and door trim stained to match, along with matching baseboard. You could trim out the garage door, that would look classy. Maybe go with classic Porsche posters, all in matching frames on the wall, along with a nice crest? Pelican has some really cool stuff you could buy and have framed. Heat and A/C are of course essential, along with a fridge fully stocked with beer, and maybe one of those F1 engine block coffee tables. This all coming from a guy that lives in a duplex with a 12x12 garage. Oh to dream.......

Check out the iDrive garage door opener. I think several people have had problems with them.
I think the old garagejunkies site has changed to the grarage journal. This is a post from the forum over there. http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1784&highlight=idrive

Instead of the couch idea - how about one of these in custom Ferrari yellow.
Check them out here. - http://www.lovesac.com/products/sacs.php They used to have a store at the Spectrum.

Collector Studio probably has more Ferrari-specific items, but both are worth checking out.
