Pickled eggs, draft beer, and White Castles. In that order. Mix well, and wait.
Shortens those dull meetings...

I'm with you. I picked up food poisioning from eating some bad lamb a few months ago and puked all night. All of it made it in the crapper and was flushed but the next day the house smelled so bad it was hard not to puke from the smell.

Death, skunks, paper mills are nothing compared to that meaty, wine soaked vomit. I'm getting queasy just thinking about it.

There's a cow farm about a mile away from Watkins Glen. There's nothing like the smell of freshly killed cow to really get your track day started.

If you see the hides hanging out to dry, it's a good indication that you'd better roll up the windows and hit the 'recirc' button!

I have to say that one of the worst smells ever for me was this guy that simply didn't wash and/or wear deodorant. He started up a conversation at a restaurant (of all places) and after catching a whiff I literally gagged in his face. I used every single ounce of energy to keep from puking. To make matters worse he followed me around to see what was wrong. I had to wave him away while my head was turned away (still gagging).

Second worst would have to be the groundhog I fished out of my pool right after I purchased my house. While pulling the very bloated animal out, in humid 95 degree weather, the thing exploded. My father-in-law and I were running for our livers and gagging. It was actually pretty funny.

My wife is Filipino, and they have a fish sauce the put on some foods. It's made out of fermented fish and smells like dead fish. However, I put it in a soup she makes & it tastes great. I just don't smell it coming out of the bottle when I'm putting it in the soup.

I always found 2-mercaptoethanol far worse than DTT. Not a fan of butyric acid smell either. We have a lab that uses the similar ethanethiol and that is a smell that gets your attention. But for me the worst smell is the amalgam of all the odorants at the perfume counters in dept stores. I have to hold my breath as I pass by or face an immediate headache and nausea.

Anyone here with military (enlisted) experience should remember the smell from "burning the *hitters", which is a combination of kerosene/diesel fuel and feces burning. Very pleasant...

I have to imagine that either of these would be tops on the list:
1) Sperm whale exploding from it's own gases on taiwan street:

2) Or these morons in oregon who blew one up on their own in 1970

Have no fear, Oregon still has bureaucrats every bit as stupid as the ones we had back in 1970...

I'll see you a paper mill and raise you a distillery. Ever been down the Deleware River past Philly?

Skunk funk is very strong as is old school pre-scrubber installation paper mill smell. Cat piss can be overwhelming, too, if you happen to walk into a trailer owned by some old dude who had more cats than the humane society......There was a trailer like this on my property in Panama City Beach before i had it bulldozed. Smelled like tigers has been using it as a porta-let..lol. One of the WORST smells I have ever smelled came from a commerical poultry operation that I drove by in Louisiana a few years back.

+1

Bought a brand new condo back in '92. A month or so after moving in I started noticing this odor as I came in the front door. As the days went by, the stench got worse, but only near the front door.

Long story short...the builder sent a rep out who tore into the wall to find a nest of 5 or 6 mice that had been sealed in behind the drywall.

NASTY!!!!!
