A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years.

The dead guy I found next door in one of our apts after 3 days rotting in the middle of a Louisiana summer in an un-airconditoned room was a smell I'll never forget. I could smell him from across the street. Nor will I forget looking him face to face from 2 feet away when I bent down to look through the door under the fan he had set up in the door way. Helping carry him down the stairs of course I had the lower end of the body bag and got an armful of leaking body juice. mmmm, tasty. he was 6'8, 350+lbs of oozing mush

There is a smell to Death and it is the worst I have ever encountered. I don't care to ever smell it again.

It depends on how long is stays in a warm, moist environment, as it disintegrates. I asked my 1st wife how often she clean her cooch, and she said she didn't: "It's self cleaning."

Yeah, like the oven....

Ok, but really bad? Cat Piss. You cannot get rid of it!

Light weights all of you, the engineer's head on a US Navy ship, the first day at sea after a week of partying in the PI drinking San Miguel, eating monkey meat and shrimp fried rice!

weirdo or not if you make wiff'n gasoline a habit you will increase your chances of cancer like a thousand times! Plenty o nasty aromatics in it like benzene which is a real bad playa.

I got the cleanest buzz of my life years ago because I forgot to turn the exhaust on in a paint booth and cleaned out some spray guns with toluene. I was stupid for hours. After that I became susceptable to pneumonia which I have had 4 times so far.

It ain't good for you fer sho!

Cat piss is nasty.

But chlorine bleach makes me gag, for some reason. Gives me headaches, indigestion, and hurts my nose.

if you smell it in late fall, right around the harvest moon and it smells great to you, well then you are chronic.

Had a Cocker Spaniel that loved Brussel Sprouts.

15 minutes later, he will leave a green cloud as he trots happily thru the room.

Has been known to clear a room full of party guests.

My brother got me a vial for Christmas... it is horrible stuff. Actually induces the gag reflex. I have yet to find an appropriate use, but I have some wicked grudges that it would be perfect for.

Oh yeah that stuff is nasty!
A few yrs ago my fire dept had to break into an apartment for the police. They thought they might have a dead guy in there. He was missing for about 2 weeks. When we finally got the door open, half the guys standing there puked from the smell that came out. This was in the middle of the summer. Next to a burnt body that was the worst i've ever smelt.

Living in the NE, we smell passing skunks all the time. It's bad, but nothing hard to deal with. The worst naturally occurring smells, incidentally food related smells that I've experienced. (I'm not going to go there on the death thing. Haven't experienced it, and don't want to)

1) Durian Fruit -- The National Fruit of Thailand! By all accounts, it smells like hell, tastes like heaven. Personally, I've never been able to get over the smell. But the "processed (ie: descented)" version in ice-cream is great! There's a reason that all of the hotels in southeast asia have signs of the durian fruit with the circle and slash. If you don't be believe me, stop at your local asian grocery store and buy one. Cut it open at your own risk.

2) My daughters would maintain that Thai shrimp paste is the worst. A tiny dab in the wak and your house will smell "asian" for a week!
