Having raced those for over 30 years, all I can say is that guy is gonna hurt himself. It looked like 2 Rotax 250's mounted, but I couldn't see that well.

Ahh yes -- The Gixxerkart. Those silly Germans! They mounted a GSX1000 engine on a kart for kicks. I think that those are the same guys who made a Mini transit van into a Nurburgring fixture. Some people have too much time on their hands.

That video is about 5 years old now. I had posted it years ago. I still love to watch it every now and again. That (along with a 917/30) is an excellent example "ample" HP.

Time for new "gummis" (aka: rubber) !

Shifter karting, right? Another potentially dangerous and expensive hobby I've been anxious to try someday. . .

Oh, its' a 1000 cc's! Well, I've watched 250's run Willow Springs in the low 30's at over 145 on the straight. Fast enough for anyone, really. A 1000 cc's on a kart is like a top fuel motor in a 911.

I've been looking for an extreme budget track car and came across a caged and gutted Geo Metro w/ Gixxer motor the other day. Now THAT would be fun, not sure how they plumbed it, but with a close-ratio 6-speed sequential trans and ~180 HP @ 12k rpm......

The guy does a pretty good job keeping it on the track, you've gotta admit.

Let's see; if a shifter cart has the power/weight ration of a F1 car, what would this have? Power/weight of the Space Shuttle?
