No gas, but here's two datapoints. My Fiance's electric bill was $35 last month, no laundry and only 1 laptop and only a few lights on when she's around. Mine last month was right at $100 with 3 desktops on 24x7, laundry for three and most of our lights on in the evenings.

Ours was about $210 for gas, $75 for electric last month. And that's for a 2750 sq ft house in Alabama. Gas prices are killing me.

We have electric heat, and this month it was $320 for heat & lights. Not bad, considering we're down 18% over last year. Also, it's a ~140 yr old, 2200 sq ft farmhouse.

To be fair, we also burn wood... 4 cords @ $175. The wood heat puts a serious dent in the power bill. It's a fair bit of effort each year... stack it outside to dry it in the spring and then into the basement in the fall. Good excercise though.

All electric heat and hot water 2000 sq ft. January was a 31 day elec bill at$414.However I just went online Jan 26th with a super efficient weil mclain ultra gas burner with a remote fired water heater. The system is 3 zones with 7 day programable thermostats. Since CT deregulated electric my bill has gone up almost double. Can't wait to see how new system runs. Also replaced the windows and 2 sliders with Shuco triple glaze and sided the exterior with foam insulated vinyl.

No gas here but its been a very cold winter for us. Electric bill was $125 last month (with temps in the 25 degree range at night, 20 degrees colder than normal) versus a normal of $75 here.

We have a sliding scale for billing on electric power. From 9 PM to 9 AM its cheaper then goes up a bit during the day. For me all the heavy draw items I can use (laundry/dryer and dishwasher as well as hot tub and swimming pool) run after 9 PM. Saves money for the Porsche fund.

No gas, (oil heat here in the Northeast) but my electric runs about $250 a month for 2800 sqft. A bunch of that total is the big hot tub on the deck, which right now is surrounded by 10 degree F cold air.

$430 for gas and $64 for electric. House built in 1926 with steam heat. I definitely need to work on more insulation and weatherstripping before next winter!

No gas available out here in the sticks. I sometimes hit $200 for electricity during the winter, and it's usually about $100 in the summer.

After renovating our 1930's era home and adding 1200sg ft (doubling the size of the house) and adding an additional furnace/AC unit and separating he house (1 furnace for basement and 1st floor, another furnace for 2nd floor), our gas bill dropped by 30%. This is pretty amazing considering we doubled the size of our home. Insulating the house and having 2 furnaces and separating the house into 2 "zones" has really increased the efficiency of our heating/cooling system. Our HVAC guy is a genius!!

About half what it was last year. Guess a new roof with ridge vents and a new heater/ac unit will do that for ya...

Just did the taxes, and had to total the utilities for '06 for home office deduction.

Gas (propane) - $1650
Electricity - $910
Water - $136

5,000 sq ft house in Ventura County

I guess we're kinda frugal, cause propane was actually 60% higher this year. It was colder this winter though.
