I suspect what they shot was drivetrain/suspension development mule.
The rear door line is puzzling. I can see they would want to ease ingress/egress, but it does need a bit of work.
No doubt the rear shelf/wing will be gone, replaced by a motorized wing. That means more weight for the hatch struts. The hatchback design really shows the difference between the European and North American markets. Will Americans spend that kind of money on a hatchback?

I wish every car was a hatchback- I miss the 944 for this. It was a sports-car that I could stick a mattress/tv/table/etc into when necessary. Why don't manufacturers make sedans where the trunk lid is attached to the rear glass into a stealth-hatch setup. Mazda did something close to this with the 6 hatch.

Tons more leg room though.
So excellent for rear seat passengers with long legs but no heads?

Women have longer legs than men if they are the same height. I'm betting if two couples go out to dinner in this thing the guys will be bonding up front while the ladies chat in the back.

Oh ye of little faith!

This is a test mule. Its seriously disguised. The real car will have you all spitting out your coffee in surprise and eating your ill-chosen criticisms.

It will outsell the Cayenne and the Maseratti and the Ferrari four seaters by miles. Then it will depreciate less than any of them as well.
This is Porsche you are talking about! not some far eastern Euro copying jumped up design studio with no charisma and No long term vehicle future - this is a very important car for Porsche.
Its nothing to do with Audi or Volkeswagen either - the Porsche guys wont let them anywhere near their design studios.
This car puts Porsche on the track of the high spec coupes from all the real major manufacturers and then some.
Get used to the idea...
Porsche is not just going to be a small volume sports car producer! It will have a Porsche in every significant market sector.

When one of these rolls up outside your golf club be prepared to queue up to sit in it..... even in the back!

If it doesn't have any more headroom than a 997 in the back, the wimmin won't be chatting in the back, they'll be complaining in the back.

You did see how small looking the little old man driving the car looked, right? Maybe he is average height and the car has goobs of headroom.

Look at the competition, the Bentley GT, no rear seat leg room, no head room. When I say no leg room, I mean the back of the front seat meets the front of the back seat...........................yet ever rapper has got to have one in his MTV video.
