Ohh what I could do with this statement....U hug your machine before you leave for work.... does your wife know your carrying on an affair with the Coffee Machine?

Anyway thats as far as I care to go this afternoon. I'm groggy and I have ripped into U quiet a bit as of late.

Be nice to Moses. He might part the liquids in your heart. Or worse, he might knock your Salvatore with a stick and make water come out!

I just think the Salvatore is such an exceptional machine, I think everybody should have one that likes their coffee.

When I startd looking for a Machine, I spent about 4 hours on Whole Latte Love reading about the various machines and the owners reviews. Even the guy who runs WLL was impressed by the Salvatore and thought it was the best of the lot.

I've had my Salvatore for 3 1/2 years without it missing a beat. Also I tend to leave it on all day, so if on the perchanch I want a Latte at 4PM I go and brew one up. I also am skeptical about machines that do everything for U, from grinding to brewing. There is more to go wrong. What do U really learn if the machine does it all for you, what skill level do U have..pushing a button. Welcome to the world of Mickey Ds...

It's not a Salvatore but for 1/3 the price is a nice manual espresso machine that has been faithfully pressing espresso for a couple years now without a problem.

Thank you! :) I just did a quick search on epinions and coffeegeek on the Bodum. Great info, and while some would find it strange a bunch guys talk about Porsches online, never would I guess the same would be true for coffee grinders. What a great world!

Tabby baby, some of us are still out there slaying dragons every day. If I ever win the lotto and become a man of leisure, rest assured I'll have a manual machine. Till then, I'll press the button with my right hand while clutching my car keys in my left.

Just made myself an 8 oz long...Twist a dial, press the button 3 times....Whizzzzz, purrrrrrrrr, pour......click, purrr.

Perfect coffee!!

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I've been using a Solis burr grinder for several years...heavy duty and well made for a home grinder imo.

U paid almost as much for your machine as I did for the Salvatore and Mini Mazzer Grinder I bought. For that money I have commercial grade equipment.

In the mornining I hit the Kitchen, turn on the Salvatore, cut an English Muffin in half and pop it into the Toaster. By the time the English Muffin pops outa the Toaster the Latte is finished. So don't give me this no time routine...

Maybe when your wunderkind Machina breaks down U will go to the Salvatore..one can only hope.

I'm not touting the Salvatore out of anything but being impressed with the quality of the thing..Where the fk can U buy a HANDMADE machine built out of copper and steel for the price of an assembly line machine made of Plastic.

My first Coffee Machine was a little Krups French Press Coffee maker that cost $149. At the time I thought it was terribly expensive. That little machine lasted 7 years. When I went looking for another machine I couldn't find anything I liked in the Department stores so eventually I went online looking. I never imagined I would spend $1800 for an Espresso Maker and Grinder. But after reading for 4 hours on WLL about the various machines, the Salvatore stood out as being among the VERY best at any price. How can I not tell friends about something so GOOD.

wludavid 04-02-2007 10:34 AM

$149 for a french press?! tabs, you were had. Those things cost about $15. :)

My camera sucks at indoor shots - or more likely the photographer sucks. The colors are off and it all looks washed out. The granite is Giallo St. Cecelia. If we could do it again we'd spent the extra couple hundred $ and gone for the double ogee edging to make the slab look really thick. Oh and I wouldn't have done the full granite splash in the pantry area. The backsplash and inlay I did myself. Edit - obviously I didn't *make* the inlay. It was custom ordered through Expo. I just installed it :) Worst part of that job was the grout. I used a grout bag and it still made a huge mess.

I know that our espresso machine is from *the dark side* but damn if it doesn't make a great espresso & cafe americana.
