Hmmm. I'm actually appreciative. I just shipped some M calipers thinking they were dry...stupid. The leaked some fluid and the Post Office called up the receiving party and asked if the box contained explosives.

I'm impressed with the USPS.

the National Guard would do a better job protecting our country stationed on the Mexican border than getting wasted in Iraq. that's a fact.

As you know, I consider this goal to be treacherous in each sense of that word.

Hate the policies, not the person. B2 is probably a likeable guy. He's just so very wrong. Regarding Hillary, well, maybe it would be hard not to dislike her personally.

I have often been seen brown-nosing Wayne but this won't be one of those days. Losing security and freedom and liberties by denying certain civil rights is not a "small price." It is a victory by the bad guys. World leaders don't play simple games, and Dubya has been easy for Bin laden to defeat. "America" and its values have been tested, and we failed. Dubya failed. The absence of an attack on American soil is an exceedingly thin consolation. Indeed, as long as we continue to choke our own liberties and deny our loyalty to the principle of freedom, Al Queda will likely just watch. If I were them, I would. I'd resume attacks when the erosion of freedom stops. Duyba is playing world politics as though it were professional wrestling. Instead, it is a chess game. Dubya doesn't even know how the pieces move. Cheney does, but he's got another agenda altogether.

Can you name some security, freedoms, and liberties that Bush has taken away from you?

I've been thinking this for a couple of years now. Almost nobody is pleased with Dubya now and after he's gone.......some additional conservatives are going to bemoan his decisions to expand the power of the White House. In the final analysis, it looks like this current "administration" may become regarded as the administration that did EVERY SINGLE THING WRONG.

No that was Harry Truman. Of course history has a different perspective. And while there are many displeased with Bush a lot more are displeased with our esteemed Senators and Congressmen. Maybe they think this draws attention from their own failures but most folks realize beating a lame duck president is like beating a dead horse

Personally I'd rather see the Senate clean it's own house. How about a subpeona seeking the sponsors and amounts of the earmarks both
parties have attached to appropriations bills? And the relationships of the earmark recipients to those who sponsored them?

thx for some honest replies to my p2 question.

and about Bush being a lame duck President.. it ain't over till it's over.

If you believe he acts and speaks in historical context you may agree there is no telling what he'll do to embed his rein. I'd take a wild guess and say Iran will be his subject remembrance. This thread may have started over Cheney, but Cheney is only cannon fodder and the bull dog in the realm of Presidential issues imo.

Here's a different take Ron re: Cheney being fodder.

Here are a few facts:
Cheney led one of most aggressive and profitable companies in the world. The amount of power he built and maintained was monumental.

Zebras don't change their stripes. That is people driven by power and powerful people don't, ever, step down and retire. They certainly don't become lameass VP's, noted historically as the weakest office in the Federal government

George Bush is noted by a string of business failures before getting into politics.

that's the macro view. Of course there's a scorecard FULL of micro details that support the above 3 points. I don't expect you to believe it, but the above 3 are irrefutable.

Iran won't be Bush's legacy; he's stuck with the failures of Iraq and Afghanistan. BOTH China and Russia won't allow it. Bush is too weak, as he has made this country.

Actually, Haliburton could hardly be described as being one of the most profitable companies in their industry, let alone the world. More like Average for the Oil Services industry.

And their stock performance hasn't even outperformed the S&P 500 in spite of being more volitile, while they were out performed by Schlumberger -- another Oil Services firm.
